Maximum Salary:  $65,100.00 (Employee / Employer Paid Retirement)

Salary will reflect applicant’s level of experience and is based on retirement contributions by employee and employer.  Employer paid contribution plan is available with a reduced gross salary.

RECRUITING FOR:  The Financial Institutions Division is accepting applications for the unclassified position of CPA (Certified Public Accountant).  The position is a permanent, full-time position located at the Financial Institutions Division, Carson City or Las Vegas.  In order to receive consideration, applicants must indicate their availability to work in one of these geographical areas.

JOB DESCRIPTION:  Under the direction of the Commissioner of Financial Institutions Division (FID), or his Deputies as delegated, the position of staff CPA shall serve in an advisory capacity and provide the FID with specific expertise in the application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles to the activities of its licensees.  This will involve the capability to perform audit review and analyze financial information and generally provide accounting related expertise to the FID.  The incumbent will conduct activities related to the licensing, examinations, and financial capacity including reviewing financial statements for solvency, perform ratio analyses and various analytical procedures related to the approval of new licensee applicants and monitoring the annual financial requirements of licensees.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Graduation from an accredited university or college, designation as a “certified public account” and an appropriate level of accounting experience commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of the position.  Applicant must possess excellent communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills, ability to perform responsibilities without close supervision working knowledge (or ability to obtain) of the legal and practical functions of the entities subject to the FID’s jurisdiction.
